Job description
We’re looking for a copy editor to join the editorial team of our fast-growing publishing and information business, based in Barcelona, which serves fascinating and controversial industries and produces content every day for readers around the world.
Working on a mixture of short-form tight-deadline content, text database products, and longer-form text reports, you will have a minimum of two years’ editing experience in the English language, whether online or in print.
Outstanding numeracy and attention to detail are essential to our coverage, which spans law, politics, business and science.
Reporting directly to the head of editorial production, you will be a self-starter capable of working on your own as well as collaborating closely with other editors and writers in the Barcelona office.
You will join a diverse team in a company that has recently celebrated its tenth birthday.
The role
· You will work across all of our content types, which are highly varied and require a mix of skills and software.
· You will ensure content posted on our sites is clear, accurate, consistent, well-written and in keeping with the company style guide.
· You will liaise with our content teams to ensure high-quality content.
· While the majority of the job is oriented towards editorial content, you will also review and revise marketing materials and website copy, as well as work with Excel and data.
There may be limited opportunities for writing but this is not primarily a writing role – our need is for someone experienced in, and committed to, editing

Job requirements
· English to mother-tongue standard.
· Minimum 2 years’ editing experience.
· Experience in editing news content.
· Working knowledge of WordPress and the ability to adapt quickly to using other platforms and technologies, including AI tools.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel; knowledge of Tableau is also desirable.
· Outstanding attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritise projects, use initiative and manage your time depending on workload and deadlines.
